Sherlock Pipes

A Sherlock pipe drops the bowl below the mouthpiece on a curved stem, the classic Holmes silhouette. The curve lets it rest in your hand and gives smoke a longer path to cool.

Sherlock Variations

  • Lay-back: the Ash Catcher Laid Back Sherlock rests flat on a table without tipping.
  • Lawnchair: the Ash Catcher Lawnchair Sherlock reclines on its own base.
  • Stand-up: the Waterfall Standup Sherlock sits upright. See all stand-up pipes.
  • Screen: the Sherlock with Honeycomb Screen has a glass screen built into the bowl.
  • With water: Sherlock bubblers, including the Monsoon Sherlock, are in bubblers.

About Sherlock Pipes

Why is it called a Sherlock pipe?

The curved, hanging shape matches the pipe Sherlock Holmes is usually pictured with.

Can a Sherlock pipe stand up on its own?

Some can. Our stand-up, lay-back and lawnchair Sherlocks have bases. Classic Sherlocks rest on their side.

Is a Sherlock harder to clean than a spoon?

Slightly. The curve needs a longer soak, and a bendable pipe cleaner reaches through the stem.

Is there a Sherlock with water?

Yes. Sherlock bubblers combine the curved shape with a water chamber. See bubblers.
