Functional

Inside Out or ‘Double Blown’ is a two part process.

• Part 1 opens the Pyrex tube to the shape of a wine glass. The open end gives access to the artist for Deco.
• Part 2 decorates the inside of the tube with colored Pyrex and precious metals fuming.

Any change in shape adds length to the smoke path for cooling. Any change in shape also creates turns in the smoke path. Path turns cause particulate to hit and stick inside the pipe. It’s one of several reasons sherlock shapes are popular.

Art

Working the inner tube adds a layer of clear glass in front of the color. The pipe condenses during shaping with that layer of clear enhancing depth and dimensionality. Silver and Gold turn the Cobalt Blue different colors while also refracting light. The refracted light causes the colors to change. It’s Grooooovy baby.
