Drop Head or Drooper

A drooper angles the bowl downward from the mouthpiece instead of keeping it level, so the pipe hangs naturally. For similar curved shapes, see Sherlock pipes.

Why the Angle Matters

On a drooper, the bowl drops below the line of the mouthpiece. The pipe hangs naturally when you hold it, and smoke travels a slightly longer, cooler path than through a flat spoon.

For more curved shapes, see Sherlock pipes.

Is a drooper hard to pack?

No. The bowl still faces up. Only the stem is angled.

Drooper or Sherlock?

A Sherlock curves more and sits lower. A drooper is a gentler angle that feels closer to a spoon.
