Functional

The double dealer is fabricated with 38mm x 4mm borosilicate Pyrex tubing. Silver is atomized into fume and set on the inside of the tube. The silver is then encapsulated behind both clear rod lines and pulverized glass called ‘frit’. The mix of fume, clear solid and colored frit provides the color changing effect of a multi-layer fume, without the expense of Gold! The frit is Amber Purple at the head and mouthpiece while the throat is Dark Cobalt. A 1/2″ carbon push hot forms the large bowl while a 1/4″ carbon hot forms the smaller bowl.

Prepare to be delighted by its enchanting pink hue. Color change leans to purple and red courtesy of the silver fuming over frit melting technique in the interior. Melted into the interior? Yes. Inside Out or Double Blown technique takes it’s name from working the INSIDE of the Pyrex tube. While more difficult, Inside Out provides far more depth and dimensionality to your chunky functional art.
