Cosmic Series Glass Water Pipe

Don’t call it a comeback, it’s been here for years…. Silver fuming may have been the first decoration for glass pipes, but wrap and rake technique showed up almost immediately thereafter. When you put them together, you’ve got the first 10 years of functional art in glass pipe production.

Functional

The Cosmic Series is fabricated on 44 x 5 mm pyrex borosilicate for durability. Our classic single bubble base is blown very wide for stability. The original design has been upgraded to include a fatter mouthpiece and a standard 18mm ground joint that replaces the mercury seal in the reservoir.  A constriction style ice catcher is also now part of the design. Ships with a low profile 18 to 14mm female diffused downstem, quartz banger nail and 14mm male bowl.

Art

The Cosmic Series Bongs feature intense 2 color and fume wrap and rake technique. Wrap and Rake is where a small strand of molten color is carefully wrapped / ‘reeled’ onto the glass in very close lines. Next comes rake techniquewhere glass is used to push and pull the wrapped color at a right angle. Raking creates even more intricate patterns, resulting in stunning color change “windows” and unintended color blends. The additional glass from this technique not only adds depth and beauty but also weight to the piece. The Cosmic Series Glass Water Pipe also boasts abstract art on the neck.
