Low profile means an 18mm outside and a 14mm joint INSIDE of the 18mm outer. One inside the other means a shorter length to get caught on a shirt or anything else that will pull it off the table to it’s doom. Diffusing your downstem (slits at the bottom under the water) provides optimal cooling amnd filtering. Smaller bubbles created by a diffuser have more surface area in contact with the water. That means a cooler and cleaner draw.

Measuring for a replacement is a bit of a mystery, especially when you are ordering from a broken piece. Don’t throw out the pieces until you have ordered the replacement!
