The base tubing used to fabricate the reservoir is 38mm x 4mm blue or green borosilicate Pyrex glass (durability). The base, top and neck are Contourex (internal fluted) glass. The base, top and neck are gathered for uniform wall thickness (strength), then shaped. A diffused downstem is dewar sealed into the head.

Art aspects of the Royalty Glass Hammer Bubbler

Decoration for the Royalty Glass Hammer Bubbler is executed in stages. First, Gold fume is applied to all clear Contourex for beautiful color change. Second, the blue tubing is worked with bubble trap technique: lightly fumed and heated, then clamped into a spiked tube to encapsulate fractional amounts of silver at the point of each spike. The pin pricked blue tube is sleeved in clear where the bubbles are trapped in the spike indentations.
