Description
Piece of the Day 03172024
Today’s Piece(s) of the Day are inside out handpipes with a difference: Plate Glass. Plate (aka ‘float’) glass is very common for soft glass, but not so much for borosilicate / pyrex. These pipes start out looking like the glass door in your oven. Brad draws a mirror image on what will become the inside, then melts the glass around a carbon mandrel before the shape is blown. The shapes and millies stay as melted, so the blower can draw a picture in Inside Out. ISO delivers depth and dimensionality of the work put into the inside of the glass as it is gathered down into the final shape. Chunky and a nice heft in hand. Indicate your choice by name in the cart wrap up notes; from left to right – Burning Man, Metamorphisis (SOLD), 1776 (SOLD) and finally Beetlegeuse.
Piece of the Day 03172024 is the latest addition from a collection of very unique one of a kind Chameleon prototypes, archived and found during physical inventory models alongside local Arizona artist pieces that we’ve conserved and curated over the years. We’re now releasing them back into the wild. Each day I will load one on our website. Search Piece of the Day and check them out! When they’re gone, They’re Gone.
How to Use
- Pack the bowl and light at an angle to draw flame evenly across the surface.
- Cover the carb (if present) while lighting, then release as you inhale to clear the chamber.
- Draw slowly and steadily for a smooth, even hit.
Care & Cleaning
Clean with isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt, shake gently to loosen residue, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Let it air dry fully before reuse.
