When you pass a Rosie the Riveter Label Glass Pipe around your sesh circle, and someone is worried the bowl is too big and can't be finished, just assure them, "We Can Do It!".This specific piece is close to both my wife and I. We chose to do a Rosie because both of us had Aunts and Uncles who served on active duty and in the support effort at home during WWII. Specifically, we both had family in Hamtramck who built tanks and bombers destined for the European Theater in support of our Allies. As far as I am concerned, Rosie might as well have been my Polish Aunt, driving rivets into the fuselage of a B-29 Liberator out at Willow Run.BITD, I was lucky enough to help outfit those plants with new electrical gear and lighting. Willow Run was converted back to Automotive production and for years, made the best trannies; THM 400 and the like, money could buy. Hammytram converted to make Axles and eventually became American Axle.Willow Run might be a brownfield now, but, everytime I drove the 94 near Ypsi, I was reminded of my heritage.
