Functionally, the model took a while to perfect back in 2002, torches were not as well designed and glass was more brittle, so, the model really took some doing to get the gather and then the stretch to expand uniformly. The Festivarian Glass Pipe is a nod to all the pieces I have run into while out festivating at open air concerts. I was first introduced to the term at Telluride BlueGrass in 2004, where I was invited to be part of the sustainable festivation team (also known as the people who crawl around in the garbage picking out the recyclables). Big Bowl Ash Catcher Honeycomb Screen Glass Pipe
The Big Bowl Ash Catcher Honeycomb Screen Glass Pipe is named for its large, deep Honeycomb Screen bowl and its Ash Catcher Mouthpiece. Normal punch size for a similar color changing glass pipe is either 3/8" or 1/2", this heavy duty unit boasts a 5/8" wide x 3/4" deep bowl. After requests too numerous to list, we made 10 prototypes, all with different width and depth combinations. It was quite a bit of 'work' to load all 10 with the same leaf and then use test them, but, that's what our customers expect! Normal bowl size is probably best for 90% of our customers. Anything bigger than the big bowl specification and you start getting nothing but char flavor from your smoke. That's where the optimal big bowl size comes from: big enough for a good circle, not soooo big that you get the flavor of ash. The Pipe For The People Lustre Glass Water Pipe is a colored version of our immensely popular Pipe for the People Water Pipe. I knew Chameleon had to make this pipe for a number of reasons. First and foremost, the shear number of comments like; 'this pipe is my First Water Pipe' or 'It's nice to be able to buy a glass bong that was actually made in the USA and was not an entire paycheck' let me know we needed to provide an upgrade to the entry level waterpipe.. The Big Bowl Ash Catcher Glass Pipe is named for its large, deep bowl and its Ash Catcher Mouthpiece. Normal bowl punch size for a similar color changing glass pipe is either 3/8" or 1/2", this heavy duty unit boasts a 5/8" wide x 3/4" deep bowl. After requests too numerous to list, we made 10 prototypes, all with different width and depth combinations. It was quite a bit of 'work' to load all 10 with the same leaf and then use test them, but, that's what our customers expect! Normal bowl size is probably best for 90% of our customers. Anything bigger than the big bowl specification and you start getting nothing but char flavor from your smoke. The Full Color Rasta Push Bowl is designed with glass marbles that keep heat from transferring from the bowl to your fingers when pulling the bowl out of your water pipe. We start with 9mm Pyrex tubing or a 14mm male Pyrex Ground Joint. Fabrication starts by applying a silver fume and heating the color rods. Red, Yellow and Green are used to melt stripes of color onto the clear Pyrex. While it's hot, we give it a twist for visual attraction. Glenns Briar Glass Pipe
The Glenns Briar Glass Pipe is a hash lovers favorite for very good reason. We have chosen to include a unique bowl selection on a version of the Aragorns Briar Glass Pipe model; an old school Hash Bowl. We skip the bowl hole at the bottom of this bowl and put vents near the rim instead. Using a hot pick tool, three vent holes are punched close to the upper rim. The Hash Edition version ships with a hot stick. Place a chunk in the bowl, heat the ball end of the hot stick with a common Bic Lighter for 30+ seconds and push the now slightly red ball of the hot stick into the chunk. As the chunk melts, it also vaporizes. The vapors are sucked into the vent holes before they escape the bowl. Chameleon has offered Hash Bowl style vented glass pipes since 2006. The Claddagh Glass Pipe is from the ring bearing the same name. It belongs to a group of European finger rings called "fede rings". The name "fede" derives from the Italian phrase mani in fede ("hands [joined] in faith" or "hands [joined] in loyalty"). These rings date from Roman times, when the gesture of clasped hands was a symbol of pledging vows, and they were used as engagement and wedding rings in medieval and Renaissance Europe. Towards the end of the 20th century there was an explosion of interest in the Claddagh Ring, both as jewelry and as an icon of Irish identity. The Gandalf Ash Catcher Magnet Bowl Glass Pipe is so named because of the overall shape and the indented mouthpiece. One of many Chameleon Glass innovations, first available in early 2002, this was one of the first and is still a very popular piece! By indenting the mouthpiece, anything heavier than air (ash, particulate or any solids) is pulled down by the natural effect of gravity, misses the mouthpiece hole and is deflected further downward to collect at the base of the indent. Ever done archery? Imagine a bow in your hand and an arrow ready to shoot. You have two targets. One is a funnel with the hole pointing away from you, the other has a funnel pointing at you. If you shoot at the target pointing away from you, your arrow will always be a bullseye as the arrow is deflected from the sides of the funnel and into the hole. Calcifers Sand Castle Glass Water Pipe
Calcifers Sand Castle Glass Water Pipe is a raindrop style vessel that is perfect for water filtration. This soft glass water pipe is fitted with a low profile 19mm outer to 14mm inner diffused downstem. It is provisioned with both a complimentary bowl and quartz banger. This beautiful design is made with Soft Glass. Soft Glass allows for more color combinations not available in 'hard' glass aka Pyrex/Borosilicate. Soft Glass melts at much cooler temperatures than Hard Glass so colors that evaporate in the heat of making Hard Glass are available for use to decorate Soft Glass. Less heat also means less energy used which means lower price which means more can be used during fabrication. These tubes are hefty and have an awesome, substantial hand feel. Soft Glass is what the Ancient Greeks used to make the first known glass pipes. Back in the day, Soft Glass was also the 'go-to' raw material for water pipes before widespread adoption of Hard Glass. One of my first pieces was a Steven Dale 'Flower Vase' style made from recycled bottles collected in Los Angeles. They were melted down in his furnace and turned into beautiful water pipes just like Calcifers Sand Castle Glass Water Pipe.
