Frog Glass Water Pipe
The Frog Glass Water Pipe by Trident stands between 14 and 16 inches tall. It is fabricated on 44mm wide by 4mm wall thickness clear pyrex. After the classic bubble base is blown, the glass is fumed with silver for Blue and Green color change. The mouthpiece is flared and the mid section offers an ice indent and an old school Mercury Seal joint. Each piece offers a matching color bowl and a life like glass sculpture of a frog climbing up the neck.Many of the lathe operators and tube arters come from a large lamp working tree with it's roots in the soil of Jerome Baker Designs. You can see the inspirations from JBD in not only the art and decoration, but also in the downstem. It used to be that a hole was popped in the midsection of water pipes. After the proper hole size was attained, the hole was reinforced to accept a rubber grommet.All of that process still happens, but modern craft method at Trident takes its lead from scientific lamp working and employs a Mercury Seal by grinding the inner wall to accept a glass on glass downstem. The lower profile of the Mercury Seal joint on the Frog Glass Water Pipe does not stick out like most joints. The Rainbow Dichro Glass Pipe is an Inside Out / Double Blown Spoon style pipe. Inside out technique works the interior of the base raw borosilicate tube to create depth and dimensionality of the chosen decoration.The Rainbow Dichro Glass Pipe is decorated with two strips of Green Grass Dichro backed with Cobalt Blue. In between and next to the dichro are stringers made from the colors of the rainbow.After decoration, the pipe is fully melted to maximize depth, dimensionality and durability. The inside is fumed with silver and flame baked into the glass. Silver fuming behind the dichro and stringers creates color change to blue and green. The pipe is finalized after shaping by adding a carb on the opposing side.You can't tell unless you have a polariscope, but all Chameleon Glass is oven annealed at 1050 degrees Fahrenheit. Our Gigantic Gandalf Glass Pipe doesn’t require you to have a beard, but it sure looks good with one. Functionally, this model took a while to perfect back in 2007. The model really took some doing to get the gather and then the stretch to expand uniformly because it requires such a heavy piece of glass with no assistance from a lathe. It's a brute to make.I designed the Gandalf Pipe as a throwback to the classic pipe style that I fell in love with after LOTR debutted in 2001.
